And this is not going to impact my credit rating what so ever. Me: (laughing) Hah! I haven't driven a Toyota in over 12 years. O: It was an outstanding ticket on tag # XXXX on a Toyota. O: (getting ruder by the minute) We DID send you a letter.
I have two requests one, that you don't call me on the phone and two, that you send me the details in writing. O: (total attitude) I don't want you to pay over the phone. Me: But I want to see something in writing. Please tell me how I can make that happen. Me: I'd like to not be called anymore about this. (notice that she's only giving out details if I ask them) Me: I haven't gotten a parking ticket in ages.
Operator: It's a parking ticket that you didn't pay. Me: I don't remember getting a letter about any outstanding debt. I asked to know more about the debt that they were calling me on and the operator (lord, she had such an attitude and was immediately rude) said: When I went through the automated prompts, I found out that it was supposedly a debt of $5! I went through the automated menu to get to a "live" operator. I was so tired of getting these automated voicemails on my answering machine that I finally actually called the number. You have the right to report that agency for lying to you. I worked for this company for three years and I know that Milwaukee parking tickets can not be reported on credit bureaus. It sounds like the collection agency rep. Most parking tickets CAN NOT be put on a credit report. Per Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), a collection agency must stop calling you if you put a letter in the mail stating such. To have your name and phone # put on a do not call list, you must send in a written letter of dispute to the collection agency and specifically say "cease and desist" to your given phone # and you must list that number. It is a shame however how many wrong #'s collection agencies have in their system. More and more collection agencies are starting to use those automated messages since a computer can call more phone #'s than a real human being. They also handle collection for overdrafted checking accounts with such places like TCF National Bank and Associated Bank. Thanks to thsoe who have posted info on how to deal with these types of things I am way too busy for such diversions, generally, but when I get some time, i will follow up in some of them. This has got to be against the law, and if it isn't Wisconsin lawmakers and/or -enforcers are falling down on the job. The fact that they make it so likely that no connection ever gets made likely means people are having their credit ratings destroyed without ever finding out why or being given a fair opportunity to find out what they owe, or to whom. Tracy makes me wait to be connected to supervisor Sabrina Zamora, who is "not available." I leave a voice message demanding that they identify who they are and what they are calling about when they call, since that is information I believe a telephone call recipenet deserves. I say hold on, how can you do that when it's so hard for me to actually respond to you, given that you offer no name, purpose, or mailing address, oand that the proferred methods of connecting by phone are either fraudulent (the "press one" option) or highly inconvenient (who wants to keep trying to reach some anonymous robo-caller when the line is busy or no one answers half the time?).Īnyway, she won't listen tome or answer questions so I move up the line. But when I say "do not call me again", she says OK, but we will continue seeking collection, and your credit rating will be affected. I will dispute or pay it, now that I finally know. It's a parking ticket I thought was paid. She does not listen to me, but does tell me what the $60 collection they are trying to make is. Finally, today, I called the 87 number and after much waiting and button pushing, I reached "Tracy" at the company. On previous occasions I have dialed the 87 number, but it was busy. I hit the "1" button when requested, which is supposed to connect me to someone.
